A Greenville dog breeder is now serving a 10-day jail sentence for animal cruelty.
Officials say 65-year-old Pawel Poznerowicz was sentenced March 8 and surrendered himself to Orange County Jail last week after pleading guilty to misdemeanor animal cruelty. He was found living with two dead dogs in his freezer and dozens of other dogs in deplorable conditions.
Poznerowicz was charged in 2022 with 57 counts of animal cruelty, and his surviving miniature Doberman pinchers were seized by the SPCA.
Poznerowicz was also sentenced to pay a $250 fine and mandated to register under the Rocky’s Law, preventing him from owning or possessing animals in the future.
