The Town of Greenburgh is proposing to create its own African American museum.
According to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, the museum would highlight the town's role in supporting one of the first neighborhoods for middle-class Black families in the United States.
He says the town could initially have historic displays inside different municipal buildings, including a section of the library or town hall.
Depending on interest, a separate museum would eventually be established in its own building.
