A state corrections sergeant has been acquitted of covering up an assault by a corrections officer at Green Haven State Prison in Dutchess County.
A federal jury in White Plains acquitted Rosita Rossy of all charges Thursday.
Both Rossy and former Corrections Officer Taj Everly were charged for the assault of an inmate in 2022.
Everly, who is from Cortlandt Manor, pleaded guilty to deprivation of constitutional rights under color of law.
Everly was sentenced to three months in prison.
Rossy has been suspended without pay since her arrest last year.
