An inmate at Green Haven Correctional Facility is charged with stabbing an officer in the hand and injuring a sergeant.
The 38-year-old inmate allegedly used a pen in the Feb. 2 attack.
Both the officer and sergeant were treated by facility medical staff for their injuries and remained on duty.
The inmate, who is serving a 19-year-to-life prison sentence for murder, was placed in a special housing unit following a medical evaluation.
