Grant enables not-for-profit health care agency to start home care robotics pilot program

A new grant is bringing the future of medical care for the aging to the forefront in Westchester County.
Visiting Nurse Services of Westchester was just awarded $75,000 to start a home care robotics pilot program featuring technology straight out of a sci-fi movie.
The robots will be able to not only talk with patients, but also connect them virtually with their loved ones, assist in medical care and complete tasks around a patient's home.
The team calls it a major innovation for patient care and one that will help them better serve the needs of older adults across the region.
VNSW is the largest not-for-profit health care agency in Westchester. It also serves the Bronx, Dutchess, Putnam and Rockland counties.

The grant was provided by the NextFifty Initiative, a private foundation that supports programs that positively impact aging and longevity.
