A grand jury has cleared two police officers who shot and killed a man outside a convenience store in Middletown.
The two veteran Middletown officers have been on paid leave since November 2013 when they shot Lennord Whittle, who was allegedly holding a knife and trying to stab a customer.
Whittle was under treatment for bipolar disorder and had no history of violence.
Bayinnah Coke, Whittle's mother, told News 12 that the officers should have never been acquitted.
"What they did was absolutely wrong," she says. "It's unjustifiable and they shouldn't have killed him. I didn't find that 'killing,' I found that being murdered."
