A liberal New York law professor is launching a primary challenge in the race for governor.
Fordham University professor Zephyr Teachout wants to force a Democratic primary with Gov. Andrew Cuomo. She says Cuomo is part of what she calls a broken system in Albany. Teachout lost her bid for the endorsement of the Working Families party last month.
Meanwhile, a poll of New York voters shows Gov. Cuomo leading Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino by a large margin in the race for governor.
The Siena College poll of 835 registered voters last week shows 57 percent would re-elect Cuomo. It shows 18 percent have a favorable opinion, and 69 percent have no opinion about Republican Astorino.
