Young friends playing in the woods in Warwick were among the first people who spotted a raging fire at a lumber yard.
"It was really scary," says Kyleigh Weiss, 11.
Her friend Carolyn Morrison, also 11, agrees. "It was out of control," she says.
But the friends say Thursday's fire at Mid-State Lumber on Kings Highway started as a small cloud of smoke that quickly grew. The girls ran for help, telling their parents, who called 911.
They captured cellphone video of the fire, watching the frightening scene unfold from across the street.
The girls weren't harmed.
