A special celebration was held Thursday for a group of teens at the Yonkers Riverfront Library.
Twenty girls from area high schools graduated Thursday from the "Sister to Sister International Summer STEM" Camp. The two week program prepares them for careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
The goal of the program was to develop the young women for barriers they may face. "I'm so blessed to have met the girls here. We all bonded and because it's a STEM camp everyone has the same sort of interests," says Brea Watkins of New Rochelle.
Sister to Sister International was founded in 1994 as a family group and has since grown into a network of hundreds of women world-wide.
