The girlfriend of a Yonkers doctor discovered the man's body mysteriously shot to death in his home Wednesday.

Yonkers police say 46-year-old Leandro Lozada was found in his bedroom around 3 p.m., with at least one gunshot wound. According to police, detectives did not find the murder weapon inside his house, which is located on Brendon Hill Road near Harney Road.

Officials say they hope an autopsy will determine the type of firearm used in the murder, and help lead them in the direction of Lozada's killer. Neighbors say Lozada moved into the area less than a year ago, and seldom interacted with them.
