Girl dies at Summit School in Upper Nyack
Clarkstown police are investigating the death of a 15-year-old girl at a school for children with emotional problems.
Police have not released details of their investigation, but sources tell News 12 that the girl apparently committed suicide.
The unidentified girl was a resident at the Summit School on North Broadway in Upper Nyack. She was found dead in the school's Children's Residence Center on Friday.
An autopsy has been performed, but an official cause of death has not yet been released.
Little is known about the girl, but sources say she had a history of mental illness and depression.
The death of the girl occurred during suicide prevention month.
