Gas prices have been dropping across the country, but the trend may be changing in the Hudson Valley.
After six months, the cap on sales tax Dutchess and Ulster counties can collect is now expiring.
On Thursday, Dutchess County is returning to collecting a 3.75% tax per gallon.
This means each gallon of regular gas sold in Dutchess County will cost on average 5 cents more.
The tax cost will be higher for higher grade, more expensive gallons.
