Con Edison crews have restored service to an apartment building in Mount Vernon that has been without gas since July.
Michael Laino, the superintendent of the building at 625 Gramatan Ave., says the problem started on July 24, when some residents noticed problems with their gas stoves.
A new gas system was installed in the building, but Con Ed did not finalize the connections until Friday.
Building management hooked up the boiler to a power source so that everyone had hot water, but the dryers in laundry rooms and tenants' stoves had been unusable.
