The wife of Eric Garner, his mother, and his children joined Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network in Harlem Wednesday after a grand jury decided not to indict the police officer in Garner's chokehold death.

Both Garner's wife and mother spoke and thanked the public for their support. They said they want people to rally, but to rally in peace. They say they do not want any violence.

Eric Garner died during an arrest back in July for suspicion of selling loose cigarettes. The incident was caught on cellphone video that quickly went viral, sparking protests around the city.

Officer Daniel Pantaleo was accused of putting 43-year-old Garner in an apparent chokehold, a move that is banned by the police department. The medical examiner ruled that the forceful act contributed to Garner's death.

Rev. Sharpton announced that there will be a national march in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Sharpton is calling on the Justice Department to take this case, as well as the Ferguson and Cleveland cases.

Rev. Sharpton says that there is no confidence in local and state prosecution.

Garner's wife was asked during the rally if she accepts the apology of Officer Pantaleo. She responded, saying, "I can care less about his condolences."
