A funeral was held in Yonkers Wednesday for the 46-year-old woman killed in a head-on crash with a stolen van.
Sharlene Stinson, who worked with special-needs children at Ferncliff Manor, was on her way to her Yonkers home last week to see her own son when the crash occurred.
Her car unintentionally stopped a police pursuit on Warburton Avenue.
Two teens, who allegedly were trying to break into parking meters, were fleeing police in the stolen van when 16-year-old Jerry Crawford lost control and slammed into Stinson's car, according to police.
Crawford died Sunday. His 14-year-old female passenger is still in the hospital.
Investigators say that they don't believe the police officer acted recklessly.
Yonkers police are trying to ease tensions across the city following the fatal pursuit with the launch of a special program for children and teens.
