A White Plains family gathered Saturday to say their final goodbyes to a young boy.
A funeral for Jayden Morrison, 4, was held at the Calvary Baptist Church in White Plains.
Jayden, who was autistic and non-verbal, apparently drowned after disappearing from his grandmother's home near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Christmas Eve.
The boy's grandmother was watching him and his twin brother while their mother was shopping for Christmas presents. His body was found three days later in a nearby pond after a massive search effort by police and volunteers.
Jayden is remembered as a smiling boy who loved the outdoors, jumping and climbing. Family friends say he was the apple of his mother's eye.
Jayden's family continues to express gratitude to all those who joined in the search for their son and all those in the community who continue to support them.
Jayden is being laid to rest at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.
