A special fundraiser was held Friday to benefit the Furniture Sharehouse, a furniture bank in Westchester.

The fundraiser, held at the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club, featured an auction of used furniture pieces transformed into works of art by designers. The fundraiser is held every two years.

The Furniture Sharehouse collects gently used furniture from the public, which is then redistributed for free to needy families. Last year, the Furniture Sharehouse was able to help 450 families in Westchester.

There is a six-week waiting list for furniture from the organization and they say they are always looking for more donations.
