The Federal Trade Commission says scammers are already trying to find people looking for information about the federal government's student loan forgiveness.
The FTC says scammers are making calls, sending texts, creating fraudulent websites, in hope to taking your money.

They give these tips to help keep your money safe and secure:
1 - Anyone offering to help you for a fee is a red flag.
2 - Don't fall for it if a scammer promises you benefits the government or your loan provider hasn't already offered you.
3 - You'll be able to see if there is a scammer on the other end.
4 - Experts say people often create look alike government websites -- so pay close attention.
5 - Don't give out information like your Social Security number or federal student aid ID.
