There is a little something for everyone in the Rockland County hamlet of Tappan on this week’s Road Trip Close to Home.
First, let’s have some outdoor fun at the Tappan Golf Center! Bring your family out on the mini golf course where you can try out 18 different holes, while still staying safe. Only four people per party are allowed at each hole, that way, you can shoot a socially distanced hole in one!
And if you’re down for a little more of a challenge, take a swing at their driving range.
Or maybe you enjoy the thrill of the chase? You can race your friends around Rockland County’s only outdoor go kart track. Or even hit a home run in one of their heated indoor batting cages!
Next, we’re going on an adventure back in time to visit the oldest surviving structure in Rockland County and headquarters of our very first president. You can retrace the footsteps of George Washington, all the way back to the 1700s at the DeWint House.
Much of what you see at the DeWint House are original artifacts, from some of the floor boards, to the fire place. You can also visit the outdoor museum and the carriage house.
Finally, we wrap up the day at the Old ‘76 House — a place that Alexander Hamilton called home...and where several of our founding fathers set foot.
