The holidays. Let's talk about Halloween, right? From thrills to scares at night, Leave no tombstone unturned this spooky season. It might be a little early for Halloween, but not, not at Fright Fest at Six Flags. News 12 New Jersey's Lauren Du joining us live, getting us into that Halloween spirit, Lauren. You know it's never too early, especially for you, and this is something everyone is going to love this morning. It feels like Friday. Let's welcome in right in public relations here and so we're in a new area for. Yes we are. We're in our brand new scare zone, Plaza de la Muerte. It's near El Toro and as you can see we've just kind of got that Dia de los Muertos that feel, and so it's black light activated, which is really, really cool. Our characters or ghouls in here to greet you. So as you make your way through the zone and you're trying to go on your favorite ride, El Toro, you will be greeted by them. This is one of 5 zones we have here at Six Flags Great Adventure this year for Fright Fest, and then we've got 9 different attractions. So right there and you can see how the black light activates with their makeup with their costumes, so we got a double. We got a double for you. Beautiful. You can see their eyes too and they are just two of our incredible scare actors or actresses that are with us this year, our ghouls, and so we have hundreds of them every day and you're going to get to see quite a few throughout the morning. Um, but this, this is like an incredible amount of work that goes into this. This one specifically is inspired by work we did at Magic Mountain, which is our sister park out near LA. And just it takes countless hours, countless days to get this stuff ready, so we're really excited to get people in here for the 2nd weekend. And as you can see, they, they are thrilled to scare and it's a limited time, right? When can you check outright? Well, you can check out Fright Fest Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It starts at 6 p.m. and it goes until close Friday and Saturday nights are until midnight. Sunday is until 10 p.m. and we're going to have some Thursdays coming up in October starting on the 16th. We go back live to our Lauren Du joining us now with Lauren, a behind the scenes look at the monsters and how they're made. Uh, behind the scenes of some monsters. OK, Antonio, are you ready? Here we do, here we go. I live in New Jersey. I don't even know what I look like. You look great, great job. Thank you so much. I was basically in charge of all the entertainment entertainment manager. I mean how much work goes into this and this is a year-round process for us and Halloween is not just a two month season for us. We start our planning in February and March and then we know we bring in our. and our goals starting in July and we start doing practices, we start making sure that everybody's ready. All right, so break down the numbers how many you got and how and the characters, all of it. Yeah, so we have 250 looks that we do a day that could be performers, that could be tour guides, cooks, and of course our monsters. We have 12 makeup artists to do it and it takes about 4.5 to 5 hours. We start about 1 o'clock, go to 6 o'clock, and make sure we're ready for. And so who are they? Are they locals? you bring them in? Oh, we got a lot of locals here, you know, we found a lot of the local Jerseys over here. We like that. And how important is it to have a look like this and have all the characters look like it once you get the makeup on, you become a different person, you know, you get that look, you get, you know, you go into a place that you don't know you have, you know, you do the scares, the crawls, the screams, something that you would never think of doing without that makeup on. So it's very, very important. And Derek, what's your favorite part about Fright Fest? The long hours and the people watching. You gotta you gotta love the guests when you're scaring them and you know jumping out of their shoes go through now until November 2nd I promise I won't be scaring anyone the rest of the morning I might be stuck with this lags adventure celebrating New Jersey.

We take you to fright fest at Six Flags this morning with news 12 New Jersey's Lauren do very much getting us into the Halloween spirit this morning. Lauren from the asylum maze. I know they find me in here this morning. I wonder why. Just a warning for the viewers though there are like there are scary things in there where are we going right now. Careful with the morning coffee. We're in my home away from home. We're in the asylum because obviously we're going mad. Your face, I think dictates that we are going. crazy this morning. So this is one of our haunted attractions. It's one of 9, and it is the fan favorite 2nd year for this one. So we're going to take you through my greetings from one of our goals is my name on that list. So it's gonna keep me yeah see that's what gets me and I'll be honest. Yeah, that's Go! I, I'm not talking too much it's my first time. They go hard. I In their mouth So you can see the incredible amount of detail that goes into designing an attraction as well as getting your makeup ready, which you can personally attest to. Got me? Yeah, now it's time for a breakfast sandwich, right? Let me get a little something for you. Listen, if you're not ready for Halloween, now you are try planning your Halloween. Oops, It's our friend Richard is doing this by the way, going all the way backwards sorry Lauren, I, I lost the plot 9 attractions just like this, and they're all incredibly detailed. They're all incredibly well done. You have to get a haunted attraction pass or a haunted attraction express pass if you want to skip the line to experience things just like this. So yeah, it's a good time. I, I do. We're at the glacierest obviously. This is Lauren's nightmare, you guys. You have no idea how much of a trooper she's being. No, but the best part of it is, is her makeup. She's dressed as the thing that would scare me, and she's the one screaming. That's hysterical.

Yes, er we have Kate send it everybody and Kate, send it. Alright, so you asked why why are we on the bucket I mean the first thing we wanted to do is highlight the great pirates, high right pirates that we have here at Great Adventures one of our scare zones, but also just to highlight the rides because that's part of the experience, right? People always say what's different about going to fright fest or going to another haunted attraction or another haunted place in New Jersey and it's the rides, right? This is something that you can't do everywhere else. I hope you're cool with rides with motion. Roller coaster person, so this is the best thing we can do. Oh my gosh, you guys like you gotta get into it, right? OK, there we go. So this is one of many attractions that you can experience and you get to experience it at night while we're lit up for the ambient. You get a little bit of that that weightless sensation and so you'll see the zone off on your left and then you've got all the different attractions. This is good. We got the reporter speechless twice this morning. I think that's a victory. And that's what we do at Six Flags Great Adventure. We make people speechless and look at this. You guys are so accommodating. I don't like roller coasters and you guys are like. They called me. They gave me the heads up and we said, OK, we'll find something easier and it's for everyone, right? It's a thrill ride and you can do this and you can go to attractions and mazes and you can get something to eat. It's a great time for the whole family, Brian, very fun. I remember the last time I was on a ride like this. You're welcome. We're to make it happen. Pirates and Korean. Camouflage stilt walker with no stilts on on the ride because it wouldn't fit. What's your favorite part about well honestly it is the goals. It's the men and women in entertainment. They make it so special. They bring like a great energy and life to the event and for me it's like it reinfuses it gives you energy to kind of push through. The fall activities, so they're always so engaging and they're great. We have one more activity to show everyone this morning. We do. We got some food. We got some Oktoberfest foods and some creepy treats, creepy treats. If we're not creepy enough, we got creepy treats, guys. We're at Six Flags Great Adventure showing you all around Fest. Our Lauren joining us live once again, getting us ready for the change of season with Oktoberfest. Lauren, what's on the menu? We're doing that. Yes, I am a clown this morning. We're clowning around. Chef Jeremy you are not messing around this morning though. Not at all. It is Oktoberfest in September. Yes, of course. So what would you make for us this morning? So we started off, um, just some general Oktoberfest favorites, German chocolate cake. Bratwurst schnitzel in the back. This is the kielbasa. What's on that peppers and onions and German mustard, mustard, frankfurter and the turkey leg. You gotta do the turkey leg. OK, if you were to pick one for your favorite, which one would it be? Definitely the pork schnitzel. OK, very nice. And then what kind of beer do we have here, authentic beer? Yes, so this is from Paulinner. It's Hen. Um, we also carry Sam Adams Oktoberfest. There you go. And what's your favorite part about Oktoberfest? Obviously the food. I love the food, um, just making it seem people happy about eating it. Making people happy. I've been screaming all morning, by the way. We've been screaming. We've been scared. Let's bring in Ryan here. So what do we have to know about Boo Fest and Fright Fest? So what you want to know is when it starts, right? So we started last weekend, so this is actually our second weekend tonight. We open at 6 o'clock for Fright Fest, and we'll go into a close, which is midnight tonight, and then Saturday and Sunday we'll be open, so you got a lot of hours to get it in. So Oktoberfest, you can enjoy the food. From open until close. So tomorrow, that's a long time, um, Kid Boo fest we go from open until about 5 p.m. and then we've got that transition period so Fright Fest kicks off at 6 o'clock and then we'll go until midnight Sunday. We're open until 10 p.m. and then we're gonna be open for select Thursdays in October starting on the 16th. So I would just encourage people because that's a lot of information and I know like I'm a note taker. I would just go to our website, find the latest hours that's where you can get, uh, deals on. Tickets and your haunted attraction pass, your haunted attraction express pass, dining, all that stuff. It's a great time. What are you digging in on? Which one do you want? So I think you were going to do the turkey. Oh, definitely do the turkey leg, yeah, and I can't remember what your videographer Richard wanted. Richard, which one are you? Just holler. OK. All right. Well, I don't know. Sounds like Jeremy's recommending the schnitzel, so I think maybe I, I guess I'll go for that. Let's do it. We're digging in this morning. Much fun. Yeah, what are you doing for Jeremy. I'm gonna do the cake. He's doing the cake. We do have forks too, by the way. It's kind of like eating French toast in the morning, right? Like it's you start with dessert. That's a fine way to do it. Donoughnut. I mean, there's eggs in it. They're all right. See, there you go. It is a protein.
