Next month, there's an exciting celestial event on the horizon: a total solar eclipse. To ensure you can enjoy it safely, the state is providing free eclipse glasses at rest stops across the Hudson Valley.

These rest stops include the Hudson Valley/Catskills Welcome Center and the Plattekill Service Area.

Health officials emphasize the importance of using proper eye protection when viewing the eclipse directly, as looking at it without protection can cause damage to your eyes.

Mark your calendars for April 8, when this spectacular event is set to take place.
