After nearly 60 years of hosting weddings, bar mitzvahs and sweet 16s, the parties at the Fountainhead in New Rochelle will come to an end in June. The upscale catering hall on Quaker Ridge Road is closing.
General Manager Andy Demario says the bosses at Fountainhead's parent company told him that the decision to close was strictly business. He said the company decided to make "significant aesthetic improvements" to its other New Rochelle property, the Glen Island Harbor Club.
News 12 was told that all the clients who had events booked at the Fountainhead after June will be accommodated at Glen Island Harbor Club.
Those who couldn't agree on a new date were given a refund.
The Fountainhead will be hosting 61 more parties before closing, including one final wedding on June 30.
Many of the 75 current staff members at the Fountainhead will be able to get new jobs at Glen Island.
