Former Somers fire chief passes at age 63
The Somers Fire Department says Irwin Schriro died Sunday after a short illness at the age of 63.

Commissioner Irwin Schriro has passed away.
The Somers Fire Department
says Schriro died Sunday after a short illness at the age of 63.
News 12 is told Irwin joined
the department in 1987 and was an active member for 36 years.
He served as chief 1999-2001
and again from 2011-2014.
Irwin was highly respected
for his knowledge and experience, but also because of his friendly demeanor and
willingness to help others.
Irwin will also be
remembered for his membership in the Red Knights and for his love of scuba
diving.
Services have not been
announced yet.
