A former Rockland County diving coach has been sentenced for illegal sexual acts with two teens.
Victor Byrne, 58, was sentenced to 220 months (just over 18 years) in prison.
According to court documents, Byrne “transported a 16-year-old minor” from Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Rockland County in 2006 and “engaged in illegal sexual activity” with her. In 2008, he “arranged for a 16-year-old minor to be transported from New Jersey to Rockland County” and engaged in illegal sexual activity with her as well.
Byrne was previously a competitive diving coach for several teams in and around Rockland County.
