A former dental assistant at a federal prison is accused of taking bribes in exchange for smuggling drugs into an Orange County facility.
Federal prosecutors say Terri Lynn Outer, 50, of Montague, New Jersey, brought contraband into the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville.
Authorities say pounds of marijuana and loose-leaf tobacco were discovered inside the prison.
Investigators say Outer received more than $160,000 from inmates’ families and associates.
Officials say the payments were in exchange for bringing drugs into the facility.
Outer is now facing multiple charges, including bribery.
