yesterdayA former Newburgh Free Academy varsity football and lacrosse player is facing charges of attempted murder and assault in two separate 2023 incidents.
Daquan Cueto, 21, is accused of shooting at a person in the area of Broadway and Chambers Street on Feb. 13, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Cueto is also accused of stabbing a person at the Newburgh waterfront June 11.
He also faces weapons charges. He was indicted and arrested on April 24.
According to published online reports, Cueto was a senior and varsity athlete at Newburgh Free Academy in 2020.
