Former Harrison Town Supervisor Ron Belmont will be getting his old job back.

Belmont told News 12 Wednesday that he will be certified the winner in last month's elections after waging a last minute write-in campaign. It came after a court hearing in which incumbent Supervisor Richard Dionisio challenged Belmont's write in ballots.

Belmont said in the end, he will have won by 132 votes.

Belmont, who served in office for five two-year terms, defeated Republican Dionisio and Democrat Mark Jaffe.

He did not run for re-election two years ago.

He said his victory was a grassroots effort and showed that democracy does work.
