Another lawsuit has been filed following a shooting at a Dutchess County hotel that killed a Long Island father.
The lawsuit was filed by Oleg Hostyeva, a former employee, against Marriott International and the suspect, Roy Johnson.
The lawsuit was filed in State Supreme Court.
Hostyeva was working in the lobby of the Poughkeepsie Marriott when a guest, later identified as Johnson, approached her.
She says he drew his weapon and shot at her point-blank, with the bullet missing her head by inches.
Johnson is facing charges in the fatal shooting of Paul Kutz, who was also in the lobby.
Hostyeva claims Marriott failed to enforce a strict no weapons and firearms policy and failed to provide personnel with proper training - including active shooter response training.
She says during her 11 years there, she repeatedly expressed concerns about numerous security breaches.
Marriott has not responded to a News 12 request for comment.
