A former correction officer was arrested Saturday for allegedly having sexual relations with an inmate at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility.
Officials say Rasheen Smalls, 34, of the Bronx, had a sexual encounter with a female inmate back in July.
Smalls resigned from the Department of Corrections in October.
He was charged with criminal sex act and is expected to appear at Town of Bedford court on Wednesday.
