Family and friends bid a final farewell today to former Buchanan Mayor Alfred Donahue at Assumption Church in Peekskill.
Donahue served 12 years as mayor in the 80s and 90s, and from 2008 through 2010. He also served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was a New York State trooper for nearly three decades.
Donahue died Saturday from cancer at the age of 78. He leaves behind his wife, five children and nearly two-dozen grandchildren.
He was buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Buchanan.
