Former Beekman tax collector sentenced for embezzling over $86,000

Jennifer Colucci, a former tax collector for the Town of Beekman, has been sentenced for embezzling more than $86,000 in taxpayer money.

State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli revealed that Colucci appropriated thousands of dollars in tax payments to finance her online shopping, grocery expenses, and car payments.

Colucci held the position of tax collector in Beekman for two years until August 2020.

As part of her sentencing, she has spent 209 days in jail, repaid the full amount in restitution, and fulfilled her community service obligations.
