A 35-year-old former aide at the Westchester County Legislature pleaded guilty to federal charges for trying to meet a minor to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
Anand Singh, of Tarrytown, admitted to travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and child pornography possession.
The plea came Thursday in Federal Court in White Plains, according to a court web site.
Singh was caught on camera in December 2022 by a vigilante group called OBL Global, which posed online as a 14-year old-girl.
When Singh arrived, the group was waiting for him at a location in Newark, New Jersey.
The group posted a video four months later.
Singh’s boss, County Legislator Chair Catherine Borgia, was made aware of the allegations in December and referred them to the County Public Safety Department, but took no further action.
Singh was fired when the video was posted.
Borgia was forced to resign the next month because she failed to consult with county departments and did not protect board members and staff.
Singh will be sentenced in May.
He had been free on bail.
Federal Judge Vincent Bricetti revoked his bail and remanded him to jail during Thursday's hearing.
