Fleet Week has returned to New York City!
Three Navy ships and two Coast Guard cutters docked at New York Harbor, bringing some 1,500 service members to the area for a week of free events that include ship tours, parades, aerial demonstrations and even military band concerts.
The usually annual celebration of America's sea services began in 1984, but wasn't held last year due to federal budget cuts that restricted spending by the U.S. Navy.
Bronx residents can take part in Fleet Week from the borough's own Orchard Beach where a marine helicopter air show will take place Friday afternoon.
Fleet Week runs through May 27.
