Fitness court ready for residents in the village of Haverstraw to flex their muscles

There's a new way to work up a sweat in Rockland County and it's now open to the public.
Elected officials from the village of Haverstraw officially opened a new fitness court Wednesday that's next to the youth center.
The $130,000 project took a few years to complete because of COVID but now it is ready for people to flex their muscles in one or all seven of its stations.
The fitness court is also free to use.
"That's what it's all about. Being out in the fresh air," says Mayor Michael Kohut. "You don't have to have a gym membership. you don't have to have all those other things to be a ble to do a regular fitness routine.
The village will be adding basketball courts and a playground to the area sometime in the near future.
