First responders in Tivoli are being recognized for saving a driver after their car ended up in a stream.

The person was able to get to the roof of the car, but the heavy current prevented them from getting back to shore.

Firefighters made the rescue and EMS teams brought the driver to the hospital.

The car was later taken out of the water with special equipment.
