At least three families were displaced from their homes after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Ardsley.
Ardsley Mayor Nancy Kaboolian says fire crews from Greenburgh arrived to help put out the fire, which may have been sparked by a candle.
"I really encourage people, during this time of the holiday season, when people put out candles, to please practice good safety measures," she says.
She says the American Red Cross and Westchester Emergency Services were contacted to help the displaced residents.
The Red Cross says they are placing them in a local hotel and making sure they receive any necessary supplies.
