Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire inside a home in Peekskill.
It happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Hoover Avenue.
"My wife called and told me there was a fire on our street," says Carlos Torres, who lives nearby.
Fire officials say the fire started in the basement of a home. They were able to get the flames knocked out quickly.
"I see them open the basement door and the smoke comes out," says Peekskill resident Barbara McCluskey.
An elderly woman was inside the home, according to officials. She was able to make it out safely. Two others were inside the home as well.
Emergency crews tell News 12 that no one was hurt.
The damage was mainly in the basement, according to emergency crews.
