A Mamaroneck family is trying to come to terms Tuesday with the devastation that was left behind when a fire tore through their home.
Fire officials say a fire at the home of Louis Mazzio on Fairway Green originally started at around 7:30 p.m. Monday and was quickly put out. However, crews had to return at around 11:30 p.m. and found heavy flames through the roof. It took about 150 firefighters more than two hours to get the blaze under control.
Mazzio spent the day rummaging through the rubble with his daughter. "All our clothes are gone, all of our possessions are gone, all of our furniture is gone, the house that I loved for 24 years is pretty much gone."
News 12 has learned that the fire has been confirmed an electrical fire, but it is still under investigation.
