Finger in salad lawsuit against Chop’t discontinued

A lawsuit filed against Chop’t, a restaurant in Mount Kisco, New York, by a woman who claimed to have found a severed finger in her salad has been discontinued.
Allison Cozzi of Greenwich, Connecticut, filed the lawsuit in 2023. According to court documents, Cozzi alleged that the restaurant's manager, while chopping arugula, severed a portion of his left pointer finger. Cozzi claimed that while eating the salad, she realized she was chewing on a piece of human flesh.
However, a notice filed in state supreme court earlier this month indicated the lawsuit had been discontinued with prejudice.
The notice was signed by attorneys representing both Cozzi and Chop’t, but did not provide any further details on the reason on the discontinuance. Attempts to reach the attorneys for comment have been unsuccessful.
