Another Mother's Day is around the corner, but this one is taking place in the midst of a tough economy.
Although one popular florist in Yonkers is busy as usual this time of year, customers aren't spending as much on flowers or plants.
"They're looking to be more cost effective, but it's Mothers Day, they want to bring home something special," says Francesca Craparo, an employee at Blossom Flower Shop.
Instead of taking mothers or wives out for a nice dinner, some say they'll whip something up on their own - all because of the economy.
"That's why I'm cooking at home this year, and not going out," says Luc Hernandez, of White Plains.
