The government shutdown may be over for now, but many federal workers who went more than a month without pay say they are still struggling financially.
Karian Fletcher, of Yonkers, says her family had to cut corners because her husband works at the airport and was forced to work weeks without getting paid.
Fletcher received a much-needed helping hand Wednesday in the form of free groceries - courtesy of Feeding Westchester.

Feeding Westchester brought its mobile food pantry to the parking lot of the County Center in White Plains for furloughed federal employees and anyone in need of food to get them through the month.

Officials at Feeding Westchester say pop-up food banks are important because residents across the Hudson Valley are still hurting as a result of the government shutdown.

Fletcher says the food she received will go a long way to help her family have hot meals in the coming weeks. She says she's happy she found a place that could help her family get back on their feet.
