An Eastchester man who was a member of the FDNY was found dead today in an apartment building.
Tuckahoe police say that FDNY firefighter Raymond Murphy died of an apparent heroin overdose. He was discovered by his girlfriend at her apartment building at 50 Columbus Ave.
Officials were called to the apartment building at around 7 a.m. Murphy was pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.
Sources say he had gone on leave to treat his addiction.
The FDNY stated that it cannot release medical information of its personnel.
