FDNY officials said eight people were hurt, including a 3-year-old toddler, during a Saturday night fire at an apartment building in Bedford Park.

News 12 was told numerous people needed to be rescued from fire escapes at the building on East 199th Street.

A fire chief said a charred e-bike that was observed at the scene may have played a bigger part in the fire. He added that the fire was "suspicious" but the exact cause of the fire was not immediately clear as of Saturday night.

FDNY officials said all those who were hurt are doing OK.
