A New Rochelle father was stabbed to death feet away from his front door Saturday, leaving his family to struggle with his loss.

Police say 35-year-old Uriel Garcia had just parked his car near Second Street and Lafayette Avenue about 11 p.m. after leaving his job as a waiter at Winged Foot Golf Club. Garcia was confronted by someone who stabbed him in the chest and ran off, according to investigators. Garcia was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities say a cab driver who was parked nearby called 911.

Investigators say they are stumped because Garcia is described as a good person who kept to himself and he had no apparent enemies. The victim leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 5 and 7.
