Today marks one year since a joyful pre-wedding boat cruise on the Hudson River turned into a tragedy that took the life of the bride-to-be and a groomsman.
Lindsay Stewart and her fiance's best friend, Mark Lennon, were killed when the boat they were riding on with others smashed into a construction barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge.
The boat's driver, JoJo John, who was intoxicated at the time, pleaded guilty in June to vehicular manslaughter charges.
The area around the bridge still remains a dangerous zone, although a heavy police presence makes access more difficult for boaters.
John faces up to two years in prison when he is sentenced to September.
