An independent test has verified that remains found in Mexico are that of a Pelham man who went missng months ago, dashing his family's last hopes.
A test performed by an independent lab confirmed with 99 percent accuracy that the remains are that of Harry Devert.
As News 12 has reported, the 33-year-old stock trader went missing while on a motorcycle trip through Mexico six months ago.
A break in the case came when Mexican officials announced that human remains were found in plastic bags near a motorcycle. They later announced that the remains were confirmed to be Devert's, but his family disputed those findings on the grounds that it was too soon for full DNA results to have come back.
Devert's mother expressed her grief on Facebook, saying, "I ache from missing my son, who was life's great gift to me."
