A vigil was held at Saint Anthony of Padua Church Thursday evening for a man who died a year ago.
Chris Seguinot , 21, was drag racing in Dobbs Ferry when his car plunged off the Ashford Avenue Bridge and landed 20 feet onto the Saw Mill Parkway below. He was killed instantly.
Police say that he was driving over 80 mph when the accident occurred.
Seguinot's family gathered in West Harrison Thursday in his honor. They say they're hoping the vigil will serve as a warning to drag racers throughout the borough.
His mother says she wants to show pictures of the crash site to children in local schools to prevent similar tragedies.
Seguinot's mother says he had plans to become a state trooper before his death. She says that he had respect for the law, but had a lapse in judgment the night of the crash.
The family is also planning a car show this weekend at White Plains High School. They say the proceeds will go to a scholarship foundation set up in Seguinot's name.
