The family of Kathleen Dymes has hired a lawyer for her following the death of her 6-year-old daughter.
Police say Lacey Carr's father found the girl and her mother unconscious on Easter Sunday at her grandfather's Croton-on-Hudson home.
The first-grader was pronounced dead a short time later at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Dymes remains in critical condition there.
The medical examiner has not yet determined a cause of death for Carr.
Police say so far, there is no indication that it was a botched murder-suicide.
News 12 has learned that Dymes is a registered nurse. According to the New York State Professional Misconduct Enforcement Web page, she was suspended for one year after admitting to stealing Demerol from her employer back in 2002.
There are also reports that she was convicted of a DWI in 2012. Former school social worker Susan Hartler is cautioning the public to wait for all the facts before rushing to judgement.
