A Westchester neighborhood renewed their tradition Sunday to honor a friend whose life was cut short.
The Family Fun Day and Softball Tournament brought friends and family together at Reis Park to remember Stephanie Crispinelli.
Crispinelli was 19 years old when she lost her life during the 2010 Haiti earthquake while visiting the country on a mission trip.
Her family supplied a fun day while raising money to build schools in Jamaica, carrying on the work of Crispinelli.
"Not only do we get together as a community and fundraise, but we also go to Jamaica and we build the schools ourselves,” says Nicole Crispinelli, Stephanie’s sister. “We meet the students, we play with the students and we're really just continuing Stephanie's mission.”
The day featured softball, food and the opportunity to win prizes.
