Dozens of grief-stricken family members and friends turned out in Dobbs Ferry Wednesday to bid farewell to a Hastings teen who drowned in his grandparents' pool.
Fourteen-year-old Skylar Tancredi was at a family get-together in Irvington last Saturday when he was spotted floating facedown in a backyard pool. Family members say he was unresponsive when they screamed for him. EMTs tried to revive the teen, but he died later at Dobbs Ferry Hospital.
Tancredi is remembered as a kid who wanted to take the wrongs of the world and make them right. Those who knew him said he made a huge impact in his tragically short life. A scholarship fund is being set up in Tancredi?s name.
